Perfect Home

Vanya Shtereva's debut in the modern Bulgarian fiction.

In 2004 Perfect Home is one of the 5 novels nominated for Best Novel by Development Foundation.

Only a week after its appearance on the Bulgarian book market, the novel becomes one of the 10 best sellers and for more than two months the author competes with names like Dan Brown, Paulo Coelho and Victor Erofeev. In the first weeks, the only book with higher sales than Perfect Home is "Da Vinci's Code".

The initial edition is bought out for 2 weeks.

Up to now there are three editions and a record number of sold books for the modern Bulgarian fiction.

In April 2006 the novel gets the Bulgarian best seller award.

At the moment it's being translated into English and Russian.

The rights for the novel have been bought by a film company.

The director of the future movie is Zlatin Radev,  http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0705498/filmoyear  whose student work Conservefilm got an Oscar Nomination in the animation cartoon category in 1990.

This is not a book. It's a striptease of a girl's soul. Who wouldn't want to watch a girl take her clothes off... The only thing missing in "Perfect Home" is a telephone book with the numbers of the characters. You will see that you would really want to talk to some of them when you finish the book.

When "Perfect Home" appeared on the market, the old men of literature suddenly woke up in a biblical situation. Susan and the old men. Keep reading, dear old men, keep reading and playing with your dicks till you finally tear them up. Maybe you will start singing in tune at the end?

But let's not praise the girl to the sky, we might spoil her! A new story-telling star was born and that's a fact. We have to get used to the thought that it's a woman...

My Name is Elina Too Often

"... I've noticed that lately. Anytime, when someone leaves my house, I start to clean. Vigorously. And with pleasure. The carpet - full of small white threads, don't know where they come from, from the nowhere maybe, the huge pile of dirty plates in the sink, the books, the magazines, scattered all over the place... And when he leaves...

Why people, visiting our lives leave so many stains, even if it's only for a day or two?

The ones visiting our lives for a day or two leave the biggest dirt, I guess. Maybe because they are here just for a while and don't know when will come back or whether will come back...  Sure, they won't empty their waste bin from the balcony, as they pass beneath that balcony every they, but they can empty it on the main street, someone will clean it for sure, they are just a small fragment of the life of the main street today, why should they care, unless they decide to go back to buy that tog from Sisley, as they dreamt about it last night and decided could not live without it- The problem is not in cleaning, however. The problem is in the pleasure of cleaning..."
